Frequently Asked Questions

Need some more information? Check out our frequently asked questions. If you have another question not answered here, please feel free to drop us a message and one of the YRD1 team will get back to you.

How do I get started with YRD1?

We work on a credit system, where 1 credit = 1 class. You buy your credits in advance and then use them to book on to the class that you want.

To get started, all you need to do is book on to the class you’re interested in. During the process, you’ll be asked to create an account and to select a payment option.

You can book on to a class here >

OR you can purchase your credits in advance here >

If you’re brand new to YRD1, we recommend reading over the New Members page to get the most from your first session!

How do I buy credits?

You can buy your class credits here >

It will ask you to create a YRD1 account if you don’t already have one.

Once you've purchased your credits, just book on to the class you fancy.

How early should I arrive for class?

We generally ask YRDIES to arrive 15 minutes early to class so that they have plenty of time to check in, get ready for class and to allow us to start bang on time.

Please note: doors close at start time and once closed we don’t let in late admittance.

What’s your cancellation policy for classes I’ve signed up for?

We understand things can come up and priorities change. You can cancel a class booking up to twelve (12) hours before the start time and will not be charged.

Classes cancelled within twelve (12) hours before the class start time, or no-shows, will be charged a credit.

Classes can only be cancelled or rescheduled via the website.

What happens if I cancel within the ‘12-hour’ cancellation window or don’t show up to a class I’ve booked?

If you cancel a class within twelve (12) hours of the class start time, or don’t show to a class you’re booked onto, you will still be charged a class credit.

If you know you will not be able to show to a class please drop us a message, either on Instagram or through the contact page.

That may give another YRDIE the chance to get into a fully booked class.

What do I need to know before my first class?

If you’re new to YRD1, we recommend you read the New Members page here >

It’s especially important to arrive 15 minutes early if this is your first session, so that we can give you a brief induction before we get started on the class.

On arrival, the reception will be to your right as you walk in the door. Please check in and let the coach know it’s your first session.

Wear comfortable workout clothes and trainers, and bring a towel and a bottle of water.

Can I buy YRD1 credits as a gift?

Absolutely.

If you’d like to buy a gift card for YRD1, please contact Ben directly at yrd1groupfitness@gmail.com, and state how much you would like to gift and who the gift card is for.

Alternatively, you can speak with a member of the YRD1 staff in the studio.

Bring a towel, a bottle of water and wear comfortable workout clothes and trainers or gym shoes.

We provide all of the equipment you’ll need for the class; gloves, wraps etc.

For regular YRDIES we do recommend buying your own and if you have your own that you would rather use, please do bring them!

What do I need to bring for a RECYCLE spinning class?

Bring a towel, a bottle of water and wear comfortable workout clothes and trainers or spin shoes.

Note: for frequent YRDIES who want spin shoes, we have partnered with TIEM and have a range of their shoes on site for you to try. We can also order them into YRD1 ready for your next class.

Do you have changing rooms?

We do not have full changing rooms on-site, but we do have a large bathroom with a shower where you can change. We also partner with LUSH to bring you the most luxurious, animal- and eco-friendly products.

Is there on-site parking?

Yes, there is free on-site parking.

The YRD1 parking is on the left-hand side as you face the YRD1 building. There is also plenty of parking in and around the site if those spaces are full.

As always, please park responsibly and have a mind to your fellow YRDIES by parking closely together so that more members have room to park.

If you have any concerns about where you’re parked, please just ask at reception once you’re parked.

Do you have lockers?

We do not have lockers but there is plenty of space to leave your stuff in the studio.

Please note: we are happy for you to have your phone next to your bike or bag, but please make sure it is switched off so that it doesn’t cause any distractions and disrupt the class.

Yes, you will always need to book in advance. This ensures you have secured a spot and allows our coaches to accurately prep for the class (especially if we have new members).

What happens if I arrive late to class?

To protect the class experience for all YRDIES and ensure we make the most of the full 45 minutes, we do not allow late admittance to the class once the doors are closed. Please note that doors close at class start time.

What is your refund policy for credits?

We do not provide refunds on test drive or single class credits.

For our 5-block and 10-block packages, you have a legal 14-day cooling off period. To cancel within the cooling off period, please email yrd1groupfitness@gmail.com.

Do I need to be fit to attend?

Nope! YRD1 is for everyone and anyone - people of all different fitness levels.

Our classes are specifically designed to cater for different levels of fitness and there are always alternative movements throughout the class, so that you can increase or decrease the difficulty as suits you.

We advocate a ‘focus on you’ policy. By this, we mean focus only on yourself, what you’re doing and working on your specific goals. The only person we want you to compete with is yourself.

The only thing we ask is that if you have any health or fitness issues that we should be aware of, please make this known to your coach before the class.

Anything else I should know about YRD1?

We want all of our YRDIES to have the best experience, so we ask that your treat your fellow YRDIES and the YRD1 staff with respect at all times. Disrespectful or abusive language or behaviour will not be tolerated.

Arrive early, switch your phone off and once you’re done with a class, tidy up after yourself.

In short, just be a nice human being :)

Can I bring a friend with me?

Absolutely! We have a Refer-A-Friend scheme that lets you get a FREE class by referring a friend to become a YRD1 member - plus they get 50% of their first class (‘Test Drive’)

To get your unique referral link, go to the Refer Friends page here >

You’ll need to be logged in to access your link. Then simply send that link to your friend. Once they purchase their test drive and use the coupon code, you will be sent a coupon for a free ‘Single Class Credit’.

Refer as many friends as you want. The only caveat is that you must be a YRD1 member already and your friend must be new to the studio.
